Why I’m a UCU member.

The union is the only meaningful force working for good working and pay conditions for all kinds of university staff, and has brought about several notable improvements in these areas even during my brief time here. So I feel obliged to contribute resources, because it only runs through our support; and I try to participate in its meetings, because its specific projects are only as good as our democratic processes make them!
