Changes to Bristol UCU Local Hardship Fund: Bristol UCU members will be entitled to claim for two extra strike days — their 13th and 14th days of strike action taken — from the Bristol UCU Local Hardship Fund.
This change applies to Hardship Fund claims from salaried Grade J and below staff, or Grade K staff earning less than £30,000 pa.
Note: striking Hourly Paid Teachers/ Teaching Support Role staff can still claim for all lost contact/delivery hours on strike days.

In the current dispute, there are currently 21 days of industrial action:
- 3 days taken in November 2022
- 18 days in February and March 2023
As approved at Bristol UCU on Tuesday, 24th January, Bristol UCU members earning a monthly salary, Grade J and below or earning less than £30K, can now claim:
- As previously, one day of strike pay for their first day of industrial action from the branch Local Hardship Fund
- As previously, up to eleven days of strike pay for their second and subsequent days of industrial action from the National Fighting Fund [link].
- From today, a further TWO days of strike pay from the branch Local Hardship Fund, on production of proof that they have taken their 13th and 14th days of industrial action, with deductions from pay packets in April 2023. Strike days 13 and 14 are 27th and 28th of Feb, if you have taken 12 days of strike action before then.
Hourly Paid Teachers/Teaching Support Role staff can claim for all lost contact / delivery hours on strike days from the Local Hardship Fund.
As previously, claims from salaried, Grade J and below, £30K and below staff are capped at £75 per day.
